The Everest Field has taken another hit with American trainer Wesley Ward confirming that he will not be aiming a runner at the race this year.

Wesley Ward had sprinter Bound For Nowhere targeted for the $10m race but plans changed after a poor run in the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.

Bound For Nowhere joins the Aiden O’Brien trained Caravaggio who is now also unlikely to travel to Australia after pulling up sore following a disappointing 6th in the Prix Maurice de Gheest.

Ward also thought about taking Lady Aurelia to Australia to run in The Everest Field but those plans have been sidelined for at least a year as the 3YO aims at targets closer to home.

The Everest will be run on Saturday the 14th of October, 2017 at Randwick racecourse.
