We take a look at tonight’s Premier League clash between Stoke City and Arsenal. The Gunners defence conceded 3 goals against the Spurs last week and they’ll look to tighten their back half this week. We still expect Arsenal to be too strong and continue their good start to the season.
When: Sunday, 20 August, 2:30 am
Where: Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent
I don’t think the Potters’ defence is up to handling the Arsenal attack.
As honest as they can be, they have the ability to switch off and Arsenal have at least started the campaign showing they can score goals.
I expect they’ll be able to breach the Potters’ defence here as well.
Too early to say with any real confidence if the Gunners’ defence is good enough to win the title but again, but they look as though they’ll keep teams interested too often and that will haunt them.
Conceding three at home isn’t really something you would expect of the champions.
It was round 1 though, so let’s see how they progress.
KEY BATTLE: Alexandre Lacazette v Kurt Zouma
Lacazette to be a little too lively for Zouma in this one.
Zouma has shown he can switch off and you get punished at this level.
Lacazette showed great attacking instinct with his goal and won’t need too many chances.
Arsenal should be able to get the ball down and play. If they do, then they go on and win this game.
The only concern is if Stoke keep Arsenal in a fight and don’t allow them to settle.
This will be Stoke’s best chance of a result.
Arsenal to win the battle to play football and win by a couple of goals.
Stoke City at $4.75
Draw at $3.75
