The Socceroos are closer to booking their place at the World Cup in Russia according to the odds from online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

Ange Postecoglou’s team have firmed from $1.85 into $1.80 favourites to qualify following their draw against Syria.

Qualifying to the next round when the teams meet next Tuesday is now a $1.16 shot (in from $1.18) and they are fancied at $1.25 to win the game.

“We’ll take the draw and look forward to Sydney as the odds are very much in our favour to finish the job on Tuesday thanks to the home support,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
