Qewy has been branded as the good thing at Flemington this Saturday so it’s no surprise to see him firm in betting for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600m).

The Charlie Appleby trained stayer kicked off his Australian prep with a strong and determined win in the Bendigo Cup last Wednesday, when holding off the Darren Weir trained Kiwia ($4.40-$4.80). He holds the call at $3.70 and has been very solid after opening $4.

Gallic Chieftain is the other key runner in betting and has had admirers at various stages. He did touch $4 from $4.40 but is now at $4.20 with the money for Qewy.

In terms of value, there has been each way money for Grey Lion, into $13 from $15.
