Owners of Group 1 winning New Zealand gelding Gingernuts have turned down a massive offer of $3million dollars from a Hong Kong buyer in recent days.

Gingernuts syndicate manager David Ellis purchased the galloper from the Karaka Ready to Run 2YO sale for $42,500 with the 3YO already amassing over $1million in earnings.

“You’ve got to take your hat off to them, they’re good sports, the sort of people New Zealand racing needs,” Ellis told www.theinformant.co.nz

Gingernuts is now back in training with Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards and will be aimed at the 2017 Caulfield Cup and the 2017 Melbourne Cup during the Spring Racing Carnival.
