The absence of Johnathan Thurston has seen the odds for Origin Game 3 turned upside down according to online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

  • The odds for Game 3 of Origin have completely changed in the past 24 hours.
  • New South Wales are now the $1.80 favourites from $2.10 outsiders.
  • Queensland have drifted from $1.74 out to $2.00 following Johnathan Thurston’s confirmed absence.

New South Wales were considered the outsiders for the series decider but have since been backed from $2.10 into $1.80 – there has been twice as much money placed on the Blues.

The Maroons have drifted from $1.74 out to $2.00 and are finding it hard to generate any punter support since the news of Thurston’s’ injury.

“The money is all for the Blues since the news broke of an Origin decider without Thurston and if it continues then NSW will be much shorter before the kick off at Suncorp,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
