North Melbourne v West Coast | Sunday, March 26, 1.10pm (AEDT), Etihad Stadium, Melbourne

Former Hawthorn premiership player Sam Mitchell makes his AFL debut for the West Coast Eagles in a match featuring two new-look teams.

It will a homecoming of sorts for Eagles big man Drew Petrie who faces his former team at a familiar venue.

The Kangaroos controversially off-loaded a bevy of experienced players from their list at the end of last year and are intent on blooding some young talent this season.

In a big blow for the Eagles, they’ll be missing star ruckman Nick Natanui with Petrie expected to spend some time in the ruck in Nick Nat’s absence.

The Verdict

Any midfield with Sam Mitchell is a strong one and the Eagles will look to exert their dominance while trying to nullify the influence of Kangaroos ruckman Todd Goldstein.

The Eagles have won three of five and they’ll get the hop on the new-look Roos.
