We take a look at tonights NRL Round 13 match between the Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights. On paper it looks a one sided match for the home team but with the Origin mid week it could open it up a bit. View our Melbourne Storm vs Newcastle Knights Tips.

When: 18:00 | Friday 02/06/2017

Where: AAMI Park

Storm coach Craig Bellamy might be tempted to rest one of his Origin stars, but going by previous years, the boys always play the following game unless they have an injury.

Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk pride themselves on backing up and making sure they don’t let their teammates down.

After being overlooking for Queensland, I believe Billy Slater will play the game of his life this weekend and show the selectors what they missed out on.

I believe Slater came back to the NRL so he could play Origin again and leave on the right terms.

Brock Lamb will need to stand up this week.

We mentioned him before the Knights’ upset win over Canberra in round 10 and he had an incredible game and he’ll be the go-to man for this game.

It was a tough call to drop Trent Hodkinson but it seems it was the right choice.

The Verdict

Melbourne with a full strength side will be too strong for the Knights.

Newcastle will put up a fight but Melbourne are the top team this year.
