Friday Night Racing is back at The Valley for our 21st season as we launch the new-look Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights with a big AFL Grand Final Eve spectacular.

The Group 1 Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes headlines a fantastic eight-race card and has assembled a crack field of sprinters in what will be a race for the ages, while we welcome the ‘Magic Man’ Joao Moreira from Hong Kong as he makes his Valley debut.

The sprinting field has attracted a capacity line-up filled with quality horses and has drawn entrants from all across the countryside including Sydney, Perth and Adelaide in the hope of joining the races’ honour role that includes champion horses Black Caviar, Hay List and Miss Andretti.

The Mitty’s McEwen Stakes winner Russian Revolution is back at The Valley but will have plenty of competition with the likes of Terravista, Rock Magic, Heatherly and star 3yo She Will Reign sure to make it at hotly contested race. On top of the Group 1 Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes, the card will feature the Group 2 Zoustar Stock Stakes, the Group 2 Johnnie Walker Stutt Stakes, the Group 3 MSC Signs JRA Cup and the Group 3 Simpson Construction Scarborough Stakes featuring Houtzen, who is heading to The Everest next start.

Friday night also sees the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge series kick-off for a new season, with the winning trainer to take home a staggering $55,000 from Ladbrokes if they take out the series with the fastest time.

The track is currently rated a Good 4 with fine weather predicted in the lead up to meeting, with the rail in the 4 metre position.

Grand Final fever also takes over The Valley with AFL stars on course including Dyson Heppell, Josh Gibson and Erin Phillips, live music entertainment from Demon’s high flyer Russell Robertson in the Beer Garden, food trucks aplenty and AFL-themed kid’s activities!

It’s a public holiday in Melbourne so head to The Valley early, gates will open at 5.15pm with the first race at 6.30pm and to get into the Grand Final spirit we are offering Richmond and Adelaide club members free entry into the course.
