It seems that punters have run out of patience with Hartnell given he has been an early easer in betting for the Caulfield Stakes (2000m) this Saturday.

The Godolphin galloper was strangely ridden last time out in the Underwood but still closed off okay, but on the line was held by Bonneval. They clash again and the punters are more confident in the mare. She’s $3.00 and solid while Hartnell, who also opened $3.00, has eased to $3.30.

That pair have a stranglehold on betting, with the next best being the last start JRA Cup winner Jon Snow at $9.00. There has been a nibble at odds for the Team Hawkes trained Inference, who is $21 in from $26.
