This is going to be interesting…Geelong could be playing GWS twice in the next three weeks.
Could it be Stevie J’s last game in Geelong, or if they win, will the AFL play the final back at Simonds Stadium in two weeks?
I assume that would be the case, but there’s a lot riding on this game for sure and certain.
Geelong were terrific last week and the week before against Richmond and now find themselves the sneaky team in the finals race with everyone taking up Sydney, Adelaide, GWS and Richmond,.
The Cats have snuck under the radar a bit. They would love that.
I think they can beat the Giants who have been amazing the past four weeks under pressure with injuries and suspensions.
West Coast almost pulled it off last week but they did show other teams the blueprint of how to play the Giants.
GWS’ tall forwards struggled a bit last week while the efforts of Josh Kennedy almost stole it for the Eagles.
Josh Kelly and Patrick Dangerfield are two stars of the competition and they’ll be wonderful to watch but Danger hurts you on the scoreboard whereas Kelly doesn’t.
If I was Geelong, I would play Danger, Tom Hawkins and Harry Taylor forward and throw the Giants’ defence a curve ball.
Geelong’s record at home is forcing me to tip them.
Stevie J might have some tips for his GWS teammates but it won’t be enough and the Cats can win and take second spot on the ladder.
Geelong at $1.87
GWS at $1.95
Tip: Geelong at $1.87
Line tip: Geelong -1.5
