Punters are confident that Flippant can resume and kick off 2018 on a winning note by taking out the Standish Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on Monday.

The Team Snowden trained mare hasn’t raced since racing at the track/distance behind Hey Doc in the Auries Star, who of course went on to win the Manikato. She has trialled up enormous, she flies fresh and is drawn the right part of the track. She opened $4.40 and was immediately crunched, into $3.80, and now sits at $4.

She holds the call over the Tassie star Tshahitsi at $4.80, out from $4.60. Next in line at $5 are Miss Wonderland (out from $4.80) and Toy Boy (out from $4.60).

There has been each way interest for Chamois Road ($7-$6.50).
