The punters shied away from First Among Equals in the Beaufine a fortnight back and they are doing the same again in the HG Bolton Sprint (1200m) at Belmont this Saturday, looking elsewhere to find the winner.

The classy sprinter has to carry 61kg again but does go much better second up. Still, he has been friendless, out to $2.40 after opening $2.10, with not much support for the proven blacktype performer.

The firmers have been down the bottom. Pretentious Chant and Profit Street, both rising in grade/depth, have been supported. Pretentious Chant has been $9.50 in from $11 while Profit Street, who is in ripping form at the moment, has had a couple of $5.50-$5 flucs.

Beaufine winner It’s It has been solid through. Touched $5.50 from $6, then eased to $7, but a late push has seen him back down to $6.
