Jake Spencer will miss the next six to seven weeks due to an injury sustained against the Tigers on Monday night. Coupled with the loss to Max Gawn the Demons will enter this match severely depleted in the ruck. Against the Magpie combination of Brodie Grundy and Mason Cox, the Bomber’s Matthew Leuenberger lost the hit-outs 46-35 but the Bombers will face an easier task against Melbourne.

Jesse Hogan has been ruled out indefinitely following the death of his father, and whilst it seems inappropriate to reference his loss with a game of football, he will undoubtedly be missed in the Demons forward line. Michael Hibberd was strong in defence against the Tigers and he will welcome the return of Jordan Lewis.

Final Say: The Bombers shrugged off the previous week’s loss to Adelaide with a great win against the Magpies on ANZAC Day. Solid in defence and with a forward line maturing as the season progresses they will be too strong for the Demons.

Tip: Essendon Bombers at $1.80

Value Bet: First Goal Kicker: Joe Daniher at $8.50
