Punters are warming to a Chris Waller trained mare to take out the Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield this Saturday.

Egg Tart, who hasn’t raced since resuming with a second to Deploy in the Theo Marks, has been well backed off the back of a sharp trial last week and an impressive piece of work on Tuesday morning. She opened $6.50 and the punters stepped in, backing her into $5.50.

She is the new favourite now ahead of the enigma that is Tom Melbourne, who has been friendless early ($6.00 – $7.00). There has been money for Theanswermyfriend, who touched $9.50 from $9.00, but is into $8.50.

The pair that are rock solid right now are two other Chris Waller runners, Comin’ Through ($10) and Omei Sword ($12).
