Palentino might not have the greatest of records outside Flemington, along with Darren Weir and his deeds or lack thereof in Sydney, but punters are rallying for the multiple Group l winner in the Doncaster Mile (1600m) this Saturday at Randwick.

The mile specialist comes to Randwick off the back of another win at his pet trip, the Flemington mile and the Blamey Stakes when defeating a quality field and pretty much spanking them. He failed badly in the Epsom last year but is a much better horse now and punters agree. He opened $13 and has trimmed down to $10.

Favourite for the race is Le Romain and he is rock solid at his opening quote of $6. Happy Clapper has also been very solid in the betting, sitting at $9.50 after opening $10.

McCreey was $8.50 in from $9 but has drifted to $9.50, and interesting to note that Arod was $26 in from $51 at one stage, but is now out to $61.
