There are a few thrill seekers among the punting fraternity because they are backing a long shot to knock off Winx in the Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) this Saturday at Randwick.

The Gerald Ryan trained Red Excitement ran the race of his life in the Warwick Stakes, looming as the winner for a brief moment before conditioning gave out. Punters were keen to take the $35 on offer and decent amount of each way bets has seen his odds trim into $26.

Winx of course dominates and stifles betting at $1.09, after opening at $1.08. The next best in betting is the horse who placed behind her in the Queen Elizabeth, Sense Of Occasion. He’s at $21.

There has also been a couple of cheeky nibbles for Sarrasin and Life Less Ordinary, both down to $34 from $35.
