Off the back of a tough on speed win in the Terang Cup, the Symon Wilde trained Gold Medals has been the best backed early to take out the Brierly (3450m) at Warrnambool on Tuesday.

The seven year old toughed it out very strongly to win on the bottomless Terang surface. Looked beaten several times in the straight yet kept finding to cling on. Trial here last week was good and the punters are on, backing him into $3.70 from $5.

Favourite for the race is Zed Em, but has been a drifter early, opening $2.50 and easing to $3.10. The slide is also for Now And Zen, out to $3.90 from $3.30.

The value lies with Western Kingdom, who is at $11 off the back of a nice trial win here last Wednesday.
