Punters are going with the saying of ‘Never doubt a champion’ because they are keen to back former horse of the year Lankan Rupee in the Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) this Saturday at Caulfield.
The multiple Group l winner resumes after a two run in the Spring of last year where he ran really well both times. Trials have been good and the noise out of the stable has been positive. He opened $5 and was immediately backed, now into $4.40.
Favourite for the race is Monash winner Supido, but he has been easy early. He opened $3.20 and is now at $3.40. That pair really do dominate betting market wise at this stage.
The noted drifters that are resuming are Keen Array ($9-$12) and the former WA galloper Chocolate Holic ($9.50-$11), now with Darren Weir.
