FOOTBALL has won the battle for Ellyse Perry's services this weekend, with the dual international opting to play in a W-League semi-final ahead of the national women's one-day cricket final.

Perry will line up for Sydney FC in their semi-final clash with Melbourne Victory at Sydney's WIN Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah on Sunday.

Across town at North Sydney Oval, NSW Breakers will be striving for a ninth successful Women's National Cricket League title when they play Victoria at North Sydney Oval.

Perry spent a month out of the W-League at the start of the year to play in the recent Ashes matches against England and was named player of the series.

She was subsequently named in the Australian side to defend the Twenty20 world title in Bangladesh next month.

Perry returned to the W-League last weekend, setting up Sydney's goal in a 2-1 final round loss to Canberra.

She averages 40 with the bat in the WNCL this season and is the joint second highest wicket taker and has the fifth best economy rate.

"That's obviously a big spearhead to lose out of our bowling attack," Breakers vice-captain Rachael Haynes told AAP.

"She's a great player and has bowled really well for us this year, so there's no doubt that she will be a little bit of a loss for us.

"She's in a rich vein of form with the bat as well at the moment.

"But in saying that one of the strengths of NSW and being a part of this team is the depth of our group.

"She hasn't been involved at certain stages throughout our season, and also in the past for finals and we've been able to absorb that within the team.

'So this weekend is no difference for us.'

Medium pace allrounder Sarah Coyte returns to the Breakers team after missing the national T20 semi-finals and latter part of the Ashes series with a quadriceps injury.

Victoria are at full strength for the final.
