AUSTRALIA'S leading Test wicket-taker Shane Warne says he's not interested in becoming the next England cricket coach.

"Re Eng job, I know it's created a bit of interest hahaha I'm flattered to be considered, but my priorities, as always, are with the Aussies," Warne wrote on Twitter on Monday.

This was following a tweet from Warne a few hours earlier: "To my English followers, I'm flattered that you would like me to consider the England job, all I can say Is - I will think about it !!!"

His close mate Darren Lehmann, Australia's head coach, has appointed Warne as a consultant spin coach for Australia's T20 series in South Africa in March on the eve of the World T20 in Bangladesh later that month.

England's one-day team coach Ashley Giles is the favourite to replace Andy Flower who stepped down last week after his side were thrashed 5-0 in the Ashes series in Australia.
