Brooklyn continued its much-improved form after a disastrous start to the season beating Orlando at home by 11 points on Tuesday night with the Nets now having won eight of their last nine games to sit on an 18-22 record in seventh spot in the eastern conference standings.
Andray Blatche top-scored for the Nets off the bench with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists while Mirza Teletovic also had 14 points off the bench.
As for the starters, Paul Pierce finished with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots while Joe Johnson added 13 points, five boards and three assists.
Kyle O'Quinn top-scored for the Magic with 15 points and eight rebounds with E'Twaun Moore also scoring 13 points, Arron Afflalo 11, Glen Davis 10 and Victor Oladipo 10.
Miami was again without Dwyane Wade at home to Boston on Tuesday but the Heat just managed to avoid blowing an 18-pont first half lead to end up beating the Celtics by seven points.
Miami is now 6-6 in games this season without Wade while 30-12 overall to remain entrenched in second position in the eastern conference standings.
LeBron James led the way for the Heat with 29 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Chris Bosh also added 16 points and six rebounds with Chris Andersen contributing 13 points and seven boards off the bench for Miami.
Brandon Bass top-scored for the Celtics with 15 points off the bench while Kris Humphries finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Jared Sullinger also added 12 points and 11 rebounds for Boston with Jeff Green scoring 12 points and Chris Johnson 11.
Rajon Rondo had just one point and five assists on the back of shooting 0-of-8 from the field and 0-of-3 from three-point range.
Sacramento recorded a comfortable 17-point win on the road against New Orleans on Tuesday night with star trio Rudy Gay, Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins leading the way as they have together for the most part since Gay was traded to the Kings back on December 8.
It was Gay who was the top-scorer in the win over the Pelicans with 41 points, eight rebounds and five assists on the back of 16-of-25 shooting from the field and 5-of-8 from three-point range.
Point guard Thomas added 20 points and 11 assists while centre Cousins finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, four blocked shots and three steals.
Tyreke Evans top-scored for the Pelicans off the bench with 17 points while Anthony Davis scored 16 points, Brian Roberts 15, Jeff Withey 14 and Austin Rivers 12.
Kevin Durant continued his amazing run of form for Oklahoma City once again putting his team on his back to lead the Thunder to an eight-point win over Portland at home.
The win improved the Thunder to a 32-10 record on the season over the 31-11 Trail Blazers with both still trying to catch the 32-9 San Antonio Spurs.
Durant recorded his eighth straight game for Oklahoma City with at least 30 points finishing with 46 points, five rebounds and four assists for the night on the back of 17-of-25 shooting from the field, and 6-of-7 from three-point territory.
Reggie Jackson added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Thunder as well with Serge Ibaka and Derek Fisher scoring 10 points each.
Minnesota then closed the night of NBA action with its first win in Utah in eight attempts as the Timberwolves comfortably beat the Jazz by 15 points to improve to a 20-21 record on the season.
Kevin Love finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists for the T'Wolves with Corey Brewer also adding 19 points.
Centre Nikola Pekovic finished with 18 points and nine boards with Kevin Martin scoring 18 points, JJ Barea 15 and point guard Ricky Rubio 11 to go with 13 assists, five rebounds and five steals.
Gordon Hayward top-scored for the Jazz with 27 points to go with his five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Alec Burks also scored 18 points off the bench for Utah and Jeremy Evans 10.
