ENGLAND captain Alastair Cook's miserable batting run continued on Tuesday, out second ball to Brett Lee in his side's tour match against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra.

England were 2-45 after 10 overs in the 50-over tour match at Manuka Oval, with Michael Carberry leading the scoring on 27 after surviving an early appeal for caught behind and a dropped catch by Ben Cutting.

Cook wasn't so lucky, caught behind for one in the first over of the match off the bowling of the PM's XI captain Lee, who also trapped Joe Root lbw for one.
