CRONULLA players have reportedly met with Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority officials, just days before the Sharks play their NRL season-opener against Gold Coast.

Officials refused to comment on News Limited reports that six players were being probed about associations with sports scientist Stephen Dank, who worked briefly for the club in 2011.

A Sharks official denied the club would be making any announcement on Wednesday.

Last month, the Australian Crime Commission published an explosive report into alleged sports doping and potential organised crime links, focussing on the NRL and AFL.

Cronulla were one of six NRL clubs named as being investigated by ASADA as a result of the ACC's year-long probe.

The Sharks play their Round 1 NRL home clash against the Titans on Sunday.
