Crows coach Brenton Sanderson confirmed his retention of the disciplined van Berlo as his skipper through a club statement on Thursday.
Sanderson, who heads into his second season as Crows coach, has constantly heralded van Berlo as a "perfect" leader on and off the field of battle.
Van Berlo, 26, will have veteran Scott Thompson as his vice-captain and brilliant play-maker Patrick Dangerfield was named deputy vice-captain.
Sanderson declare the re-appointment of the reliable van Berlo as a no-brainer.
"He's the ultimate role model for our young players and the entire squad," Sanderson said in a statement on Thursday.
Ruckman Sam Jacobs and dangerous forward Jason Porplyzia were named in Adelaide's leadership group.
Veteran defender Ben Rutten stood down from the leadership team.
