Zaharakis, 22, managed just 13 appearances last season because of a severe quad injury.
Bombers football manager Danny Corcoran said Zaharakis suffered his latest setback at training on Monday.
The skillful on-baller went for a scan that afternoon and Corcoran said the results showed a minor strain, different to the injury that plagued Zaharakis' 2012 season.
"He is pain free today and we just have to work our way through it and see how he pulls up," Corcoran told The Age.
"He has had a super pre-season, fortunately it's a different injury (to last season) which is always good to know.
"He will miss a couple of weeks, no doubt."
