Former West Coast Eagle Jaymie Graham has suffered an horrific knee injury which is likely to end his WAFL season with South Fremantle, and could end his football career.

The former Eagles was involved in a massive collision with a Subiaco opponent Danny Hughes when his knee buckled under the weight of the impact, leaving Graham’s kneecap dislocated.

A fireman by day, it is understood Graham also injured all the ligaments around the knee. He was taken to hospital by ambulance shortly after.

Graham quit the AFL two years ago after winning the Eagles best clubman award in order to dedicate more time to looking after his sister Candy.

Graham and five of his siblings were raised by their grandparents, former horse trainer Peter Graham and his wife Robyn, after his mother Trudy's life was ruined by drugs.

But through a complicated set of circumstances Candy remained in foster care - a situation Graham rectified by assuring the authorities he would be the girl’s primary carer.
